The prompt for this assignment was creating an image for the LA times based on the topic of misinformation, so I wanted to create an almost parody of the C'eci ne'est pas une pipe, but instead it says C'est un fait (This is a Fact) showing a jackalope. Here shows my thumbnails and work in progress.
I used pastels as a base, then detailed with colored pencils, and mixed media in the background (junk mail, photos, glue, acrylic paint)
