The concept for this project was to make a parallax effect in After Effects, which a paper puppet theater immediately came into mind. I sculpted the heads and limbs out of clay and drew the clothes in Procreate as well as the features and details of the heads. I also added animation on top of the faces and gave them subtle movement and textures.
They are filled with a foil interior, then covered in Plasticine clay so they are still malleable for simple movements for stop motion. In Procreate I added features like irises and shading to the faces, making them more human and doll like, as well as animating on top of them.
I took pictures of these items at stores and added affects in procreate. The texture on the left was used as a wall.
